We are delighted to reveal the new, official Home-Start Glasgow North tartan.

Designed and gifted by the wonderful Slanj Kilts, the tartan will see its first official outing at the Kiltwalk 2018 in Glasgow on 29th April. You can see the tartan in all its glory on our Facebook page.

“We had never imagined having our very own registered tartan” said our Chair, Alan Webb. “We met with the Slanj team to learn from their previous Kiltwalk experience, where they provide free kilt hire to all Kiltwalkers. Before we knew, we’d left with amazing Kiltwalk partners, lots of ideas and our HSGN tartan”.

After the first outing at Kiltwalk, with our Ambassador, Kaye Adams, and our new mascot, ‘Slanj’ Bear walking in the very first HSGN kilts, the tartan will be used to develop the identity of our community charity. We’ll also be able to share it with others in the Home-Start network, promoting families.

Everyone walking in support of our work will receive a Home-Start/Kiltwalk t-shirt incorporating the new tartan design.

We’re also delighted to announce the support of young people, volunteers and staff of Royston Youth Action. Recent winners of the Evening Times Community Champion Public Service Award, young people chose Home-Start Glasgow North as one of their 2018 charities in the brilliant ‘12 Acts of Kindness’ project. The team will join us to walk, to encourage others to join our team and are currently exploring opportunities to perform at the finish in Moss O Balloch Park.
